The videos about technology really opened my eyes about today's society. The advancements in educational technology and social technology are easily comparable. Both are growing at an exponential rate, and both are vastly changing the world. The impact technology has had on both popular culture and education have changed lives. In the video, "Did You Know?" the creator stated that we are currently preparing students for jobs that don’t yet exist, using technologies that we have not invented, to solve problems we don’t even know are problems yet. Technology is slowly moving towards taking place of the human brain. People meet online and fall in love, find old friends, meet new ones, download music, watch all types of videos, the list can go on forever. It's said that there are 31 billion searches on Google a day; this can have an impact on education because students do not even need to ask their teacher a question when they can easily find the answer on Google, and it has an impact on social culture because we can find out anything we'd like about famous people, movies, books, anything, really. The impact technology has on society can be both good and bad. I think the advancements are beneficial for popular culture for the most part. Social networking sites help humans stay connected with ones they love and meet people who have similar interests to them. Listening to music and watching videos on YouTube are harmless habits that would be impossible to have without technology. The impact it has on the educational landscape has its perks and flaws. I think the invention of different online programs for teachers to use and classroom items, such as Smartboards, are positive technological advancements that help to better the schooling experience for children all over the world. The problem technology has in schools is the usage of phones, iPods and video games. Students are so indulged in these fun gadgets that they are slacking on their schoolwork and getting easily distracted. There is no way in stopping these advancements so it is important for us, especially as teachers, to do our best to adapt to the changes and try to use them in a serviceable way.

Reflection
The lesson I learned from this prompt will definitely stick in mind from now until the time I start teaching. I realized that today's technology ameliorations are never going to slow down so it is important to adapt to them. Learning about technological programs that can help make our classroom better is extremely important and so is incorporating the use of technology into lesson plans.
